Please send a photo on Class Dojo to your teacher. All entries will receive a sticker.

The Science

An oil spill happens when sea water is contaminated with oil. This can be an accident, or an error caused by humans. Oil spills are extremely damaging to marine wildlife and humans  if the oil gets into the food chain.

Science of the Month: Biodiversity - Oceans

Choose one of the following topics to investigate:

  1. Find out about the dangers of plastic pollution.
  2. Make a list of five different ways that we can reduce our plastic consumption.
  3. Find out about three of the biggest oil spills in history.
    • Where did they happen?
    • How much oil was spilt?
    • How did this affect marine wildlife?
