LBBD are working with Valence Primary School to introduce pedestrian and cycle only areas in front of the school gates at pick up and drop off times. We call these School Streets.
School Streets will operate on Bonham Road between Becontree Avenue and Valence Wood Road; Henshawe Road and Margery Road on weekdays during term time only, between the hours of 8am to 9.15am and 2.45pm to 4pm
What is a School Street?
A School Street is where roads around a school have restrictions in place at school drop off and pick up times. Our aim is to transform busy and polluted school roads into safer, healthier and more pleasant environments, and reduce the nuisance caused to residents during the school run.
Residents, blue badge holders, school staff and carers will be exempt. Residents parking will be unaffected.
How Does it Work?
The streets outside the school gate will be made pedestrian and cycle only zones, Monday to Friday from 8am to 9.15am and 2.45pm to 4pm. Restrictions are enforced using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras. Any vehicle not exempt and attempting to drive into the street during these hours will be issued a Penalty Charge Notice.
